Chemical odor at Dracul Houston Embassy reports all clear

HOUSTON – A chemical odor and faint smoke were reported early this morning at the Dracul Houston Embassy, described as a burnt heavy plastic smell, causing nausea and dizziness to those inside the building.

Houston Fire Department responded at 4:50am to investigate the foul odor and smoke, but determined the cause was due to an oven in the kitchen, probably related to the self-cleaning feature on the device. Fire crews investigated the oven and found no flames or cause for immediate alarm.

No one inside required medical attention and the fire department advised the building be vented through doors and windows. According to the Embassy staff, the foul odor has started to dissipate, however is still present.

No word on if the embassy will temporarily close until the odor fully dissolves.
