Clarksbourg-Bran District sister city partnership begins

BRAN DISTRICT – The City of Clarksbourg in Karnia-Ruthenia, as well as Bran District in Dracul signed a Memorandum of Understanding Thursday afternoon, officially declaring the cities as Sister Cities.

The idea came about in a diplomatic meeting, late October 2023. The idea of sister cities is not uncommon, as many macro countries around the world establish them each year.

With the sister city agreement in effect, both cities can expect mutual support in the development of new social, economic and academic programs. Furthermore, the agreement aims to generate an improvement of the operation of the cities’ various government agencies by serving as a conduit of information.

With both cities currently operating under federal control without a mayor, both nations’ Chancellors signed the agreement together.

“We’re looking at ways of sharing cultures. This is a great opportunity for both nations.” said His Royal Highess, Prince Stephen of Dracul. “Sister cities aren’t common in micronationalism, so hopefully we can encourage other nations to do the same.” he added.

Sister city agreements typically don’t have expiration dates and usually remain in effect for the life of the cities. It’s also not uncommon for one city to have multiple sister city agreements. Houston, Texas for instance has at least five sister city agreements with others around the world.

Both cities can expect mutual support in the upcoming weeks. No word yet on what services will be provided initially.
